SJMA Reads, the Museum’s book club, returns. The spring selection is Yuyin Li’s Gold Boy, Emerald Girl, a collection of nine mesmerizing stories set in 21st-century Beijing.

SJMA and The Tech Museum of Innovation team up to offer two Summer Sunday programs. For the first, participants will meet The Tech’s Spin Bots—robots with pens as legs. Work together with a Spin Bot to make a robotic drawing.

Each week-long camp at the Museum is packed with fun and creativity. Children ages 6–14 learn to look at, talk about, and create art. Inspired by the summer exhibitions Annie Leibovitz: Pilgrimage and Questions from the Sky: New Work by Hung Liu, this year’s camp will explore new approaches to photography and technology in art.

Celebrate with Hung Liu, one of the most beloved artists in the Bay Area, at this special evening. Enjoy the rare opportunity to see the artist at work as she paints the final wall of her new installation Questions from the Sky in a special performance at 7 PM. Festivities will also include live music and a DIY Art activity inspired by Liu’s work.
